Mesalamine Tablets

Mesalamine Tablets

Mesalamine tablets are an anti-inflammatory medication used to treat ulcerative colitis, a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). They work by reducing inflammation in the lining of the colon, helping to relieve symptoms such as diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and abdominal pain. Mesalamine is thought to act locally in the colon by inhibiting the production of certain inflammatory chemicals like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. These tablets are typically used for both the treatment of active disease and maintenance of remission to prevent flare-ups.
