    Amoxicillin-Clavulanate, commonly known by the brand name Augmentin, is a combination antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, sinus infections, ear infections (otitis media), urinary tract infections (UTIs), and skin and soft tissue infections.

     

    This combination contains two active ingredients:

     

    Amoxicillin – a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of bacteria.

     

    Clavulanate potassium – a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks enzymes some bacteria produce to resist antibiotics, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of amoxicillin.

     

    How to Use:
